The secret beach, a ride along the seashore

Pictures are at the bottom...

Lee told me the Queen Mary was in town, so after work I decided to ride over to the new harbour, and check it out. It had either already left when I got there, or had never been. No matter. I found a secret beach, almost enclosed now by the reclaimed piers at the new harbour. A bit of digging turned up that the rock was the "Calling Rock" where people used to stand and call messages from the mainland out to people living on Viðey, an island just offshore. A nice little beach.

I made some nice rockstacks, in another out of the way corner of rocks, which had already been visited by the rockstacking pixies. I also found some rather unusual polished rocks, along a section of the biketrack. I don't remember them always being there, but apparently they've been there for a while. Art with no label. The best kind.
