Walking on Esja for a change

Pictures are at the bottom...

I hadn't been up esja in a while. Karine had rung up, asking to go up on friday night, so I thought chances were good for having a bit of a posse. Good weather friday day time, but rain in the afternoon, and everyone backed out. Screw 'em. I went anyway, and had perfect conditions. Barely a breath of wind, high clouds, and nice temperatures.

It was particularly green this time, and they've completely redone the track up to the first little canyon. The lupines are coming into full bloom, in the height of their out of place purple, but they still look nice. I'd done very little exercise over the winter, so I was curious how I'd go getting up there, but I still made it up in a quite respectable 75mins. I was happy with that. I was also extremely happy to have the wind in my lungs again. It's going to be a great summer.
