Unexpected snowstorm

Pictures are at the bottom...

Got some unexpected snow on friday. Plenty of people, myself included, were still on their summer tires, which made for some extremely white knuckle driving getting home.

Breathed a sigh of relief at making it home, and decided that I was just going to clam up at home for the weekend, (the forecast wasn't any better) I even decided that I would walk to the shops, rather than drive, as it was safer. Of course, after a couple of hundred metres in the wind and snow, I decided that I had plenty of food at home, turned around, and settled in for an entertaining night of rather quirky movies. (The big tease, halloweentown high)

Anyway, this is meant to be about the weather right? Not my psuedo-diary. Saturday morning, the wind had died down, and as the day progressed, cleared to blue skies. Beautiful. I thought I might even try and get my tires changed, and perhaps if I'd made that decision earlier in the day, it might have even happened. But as it was places were either fully booked for the rest of the day, or were closed already or had huge lines. The roads were vastly improved on saturday compared to friday. Plows had been around, the sun was out, and except for drifts here and there, it was generally ok, and I'll just wait til monday.
