Lazy Lovers Leap Clyming Trip
Rad, Scott and I met up for a weekend's climbing at Lovers Leap. We led a total of 4 pitches between us. oh yea, oh yea. But twas leisurely. We crashed on rad's floor on friday night, then drove up the rest saturday morning, where we shivered in the cold (Lovers is in the shade a lot of the day, and this was getting later in the season) for a bit, and eventually headed on up the hill. We had a few ideas, but one of them was taken or something, and we wanted to do something easier first, so we ended up on East Wall (5.6) which was very leisurely. Scott led the first pitch, which looked more intimidating. Or was it just that me and Rad are both lazy bums? We met scott on top of the first pitch on this lovely big block in the sun, which of course I was too lame and chicken to leave. It also wasn't abundantly clear which way to go. Eventually, as usual, I got up some nerve and started running it out around the block and up over the ledge. First steps are always so hard. Up, and then across the train tracks, a pair of dykes, very little pro, but easy ledge traversing. Eventually we topped out, after traversing about an entire pitch. Fun anyway. Took Rad up to South Tahoe Pizza for dinner. Where they have fantastical pizza, lovely ladies serving, good beer, and a ms pacman table game. As was usual, we ate, drank, and played pacman till we ran out of quarters. The next day we only managed to do one pitch of "The Line" (5.9), which Scott led, and I toproped something beside it, before Rad and I nicked off to the city to go to the Folsom St Fair. We dropped Scott off enroute. He didn't want to come. He was scared of the men in leather. or something.
